About me

Hello and welcome!

I’m Colin Blokkeel, a software engineer captivated by crafting intuitive, user-first experiences and architecting robust back-end systems, scalable distributed infrastructures, and thoughtful system designs.

At the moment, I am coding a lot in Go and Typescript. These languages allow me to quickly build great products while maintaining reliable and efficient code. I also have strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming. I usually use Nuxt 3 when I'm working on frontend projects.

When I’m not coding, you can find me exploring new movies, cooking, or simply vibing with video games.

I currently contribute my skills at Pingflow, where we’re building a Figma-like editor to allow users, primarily factories, to create screens to monitor their production. I also worked for Auchan, where I played a key role in building and maintaining one of the largest e-commerce website in France.

Feel free to browse my résumé for more details. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your visit!

Projects

Here are some projects that I can proudly show :

Geofight

A 1 versus 1 game where you have to guess the flag before your opponnent. Interesting project using Websockets technologies. Looking forward to add more features, like ranked games, leaderboard and authentication to keep user match history.

RecipeHub

Built a recipe aggregation and planning application featuring a Nuxt for the main application and a Bun-powered service. The backend service fetches and parses recipe data from provided URLs, while the frontend allows users to manage recipes and generate shopping lists. This is still work in progress.

Restream

Developed a service that takes a youtube livestream URL as an input, and re-stream it with additional AI generated subtitles in a given language. Used Caddy and FFmpeg to serve the modified livestream.

This website

This portfolio website is built with Nuxt 3 and Nuxt Content, combining a clean design with efficient code to showcase my projects. It features a dedicated section for my résumé, offering a straightforward look at my work and experience.
